Despite WordPress' spam control, a lot of gibberish has been getting through.

Not that anyone has been busting the doors down to comment, but in the interests in sticking it to spammers I am going to have to turn comment moderation on until WordPress can update its filters.

If you go to the wordpress dashboard, then options, discussion, you can add words to a list that, if they show up in a comment, will either be blacklisted or held for moderation. My list has grown to be quite extensive and includes names of drugs, commonly mispelled words from spam comments, etc. I can email it to you if you like… it does come in kinda handy, and gives you a chance to preview or simply nuke comments that come in.

My other suggestion, if you haven’t done this already, is to tell it to hold comments in moderation if they have more than one link… The default is either two or three…

Good luck!

Thanks, Alyoshka. I’m gonna get on it.

Wouldn’t you know, the one day that I turn moderation on, first my internet service goes down, then I have a REALLY BUSY day and can’t get to another computer for hours. . .
