An Inconvenient Fact. . . July 28, 2006

. . .in his rabid desire to get to the White House, his feverish goal at least since 1988, Gore is willing to twist science in such a way as to whip the proles into such a frenzy that they will not be able to anything BUT vote the fool into office, so that he might solve the problem of global warming.

But as I have ranted over and over in here, he is using bad science.  Examples may be found here, here, here, and most of all here.

And even if Savior Al gets in the White House and tries to solve the problem that may not be there, one fellow thinks it’s too late.

Interesting that you quote a bunch of media outlets, and not one reputable scientific journal.

And so? Find me the scientific journal that states without equivocation that global warming is without a doubt anthropogenic in nature. And even if you do (it would take a pretty irresponsible scientist to write such a claim), it’s bad science because at its very best it is merely a correlation.

They might say things such as “It’s likely,” or “The evidence suggests”. That is far different from saying “A plutonium fission reaction of 500 megatons will cause shock waves, extreme increases in temperature and kill all humans within 500 yards of Ground Zero.”

As I’ve said over and over, we need probably centuries of direct data gathering before we can say with certainty that we are causing global warming. Conclusions drawn through secondary observations such as tree rings and ice cores give strong indications, but cannot be conclusive.

For the most part, this sad little debate is taking place amongst the pundits, not the scientific journals that I am aware of.

But if you DO want hard data, start out with The Skeptical Environmentalist.
