The Best Write-Up I’ve yet seen on my Dad December 25, 2006

Here.

Best quote:

If I had to choose one word to describe you, it would be leather. Stiff on one side, soft on the other. And very cowboy-ish.

And I’m not the least bit ashamed to say that it was written by my 16 year old son.

Great, poignant piece.

I am very sorry to hear about your dad, Hoody. It’s never easy for us who are left behind. My wishes are that the Lord will help you handle your grief.

Chesterton was a brilliant man indeed. I’ve always enjoyed reading him. Yes, I definitely hope 2007 is an improvement over 2006. Personally I didn’t have a bad 2006 but the world is a mess. I’m praying for improvement but no, I’m not holding my breath.

It is tragic that people like Saddam exist and seem to have no conscience whatsoever. I can’t help admitting that I’m glad that he is gone because he was the cause of so many people suffering and he had no regrets about anything he had done. My wish is that no one would ever grow up to be what Saddam was, Hitler was, and Ahmadinejad is, but that’s also wishful thinking.

Blessings for a better year in 2007!
