Mariners steal one from the Bombers May 7, 2007

. . .thanks to a blown call by umpire Gerry Davis, calling a clearly out Willie Bloomquist safe at second on a steal attempt.  Bloomquist later scored on a single by Kenji Johjima to tie the game.  Yankees go on to lose as Adrian Beltre smacks a homer off reeling New York closer Mariano Rivera.

Do I feel sorry for the Evil Empire?  Not one damned bit.  I’d laugh all day long if the M’s were to take a game from the Yankees based on blown calls.  I’d laugh all day ling if ANY team beat the Yankees due to blown calls.

Mariners remain 1/2 game out of first in the AL West.  They are worth following so far this year.  If King Felix can get healthy. . .watch out.
