Liberal Freedoms? Try Liberal Repressions May 11, 2007Posted by Administrator in Cultural Pessimism, Liberal Hypocrisy, Liberal self-loathing.
Seems this fellow was challenging by e-mail the private Hamline University’s policy on students being allowed to arm themselves.
On April 23, Scheffler received a letter informing him he’d been placed on interim suspension. To be considered for readmittance, he’d have to pay for a psychological evaluation and undergo any treatment deemed necessary, then meet with the dean of students, who would ultimately decide whether Scheffler was fit to return to the university.
So, they suppress his 2nd Amendment rights, then eliminate his 1st Amendment rights by requiring hospitalization for speaking against the school policies. I didn’t realize that supporting the 2nd Amendment was tantamount to insanity.
Granted, Hamline is a private institution and can establish its own eligibility requirements beyond the Constitution.
Still, isn’t it a tad instructive what the more liberal world view will look like? Freedom of speech, so long as you are not advocating the 2nd Amendment or challenging the Narrative on AGW.
