Bonds passes the Hammer, Selig meets on steroids August 7, 2007Posted by Administrator in Sports.
You don’t think Bud Selig knew what he was doing when he forsook Barry Bonds’ pursuit of the all-time home-run record by meeting with MLB steroid czar George Mitchell? He knew exactly what he was doing, engaging in blatant irony. George and Bud talked about the case against Bonds while he was flexing his armored elbow against the Nationals in San Francisco.
Oh yeah, there was no way Selig was going to be there.
As for the Hammer himself, always a class act, he pre-recorded a message of congratulations to Bonds; but when called shortly after Bonds hit #756, a woman at his house answered that Henry Aaron was already in his bed, asleep for the night.
Far as I am concerned, Henry Aaron is The Man.
