Liberty junkies everywhere ought to be celebrating the fact that the Roman Catholic Church here in the US is sticking it to the GodKing and his fawning sycophant, Kathleen Sebelius, in suing over the HHS mandate.  12 separate lawsuits by over 40 different Catholic identities.  Awesome.  And more awesome, Notre Dame (NOTRE DAME!!!!) is on the list of litigants.  That same Notre Dame that invited the GodKing to be commencement speaker in the recent past.  The Democratic Party, I am sure, is muttering in its lattes about this, reassuring themselves that there is no way these suits can succeed; but also knowing deep down that such rationalizations are just that.

But, despite the fact that this represents the largest religious lawsuit in the history of the nation, there is much outrage in the Catholic Blogosphere that the MSM, in its Full Metal Tankage for its anointed GodKing, has said virtually nothing on the subject. (See here for an initial look at this as well as links to outside sources).

Really, is anyone truly surprised?

It’s been such awhile since I’ve fiddled on here.  I see that WordPress has expanded  its stat cruncher, so I now can see where my page views have been coming from.

The all time winner?  PZ Myers’ pestiferous Pharyngula!!!

Dear plonk miners:  I gave up Herr Doktor Myers’ blog a long time ago.  I hear second hand that he has not changed, and visited today very briefly to see if I’m still in the dungeon.  Amazingly, I am, but only for daring to combat the Sycophantic Echo Chamber Horde with something different than the Party Line.   I will not be taking on Herr Doktor here, so save your fingers and your limited intellects.  Stick with what you know and listen to so well in Herr Doktor’s Echo Chamber.

On When a Liberal Media Bias Might be a Good Thing for the Church and Prove the Existence of God, to Boot. April 30, 2012

Perhaps you’ve heard about this story.  I’ll freely confess, when I first saw it, I thought; “Damned liberal media.  Taking it to the Church again.”  And then I thought, “You’d not hear about this in terms of such high outrage if it had been a simple public figure.  Heck, for most people, you would not hear about it at all.  Stop picking on the Church, for heaven’s sake.”  You simply cannot help yourself with that holier-than-thou mentality when it comes to priests.

And I also thought, “That priest is an idiot, and an incompetent one at that, if for no other reason than he didn’t actually proof his PowerPoint before his meeting.”  I hold no brief for saying a man is condemned for porn, gay or otherwise.  Just as I hold no brief for a man to be condemned for drunkenness, gambling or serial infidelity.  We all have our shortcomings, yes even the priests.  ALL of these things are bad, evil acts.  They do not then translate the person into an evil person.

Love the sinner, hate the sin, you know.

But then I thought a bit more on that.  That priest showed that material at a public meeting.  For First Communicants.  Second graders!!  He deserves to be taken out to the shed for that.

And not just that.  But also for being a priest.

I’ve often concurred with Mark Shea’s tongue-in-cheek assertion that if we allowed educators to marry, then abuse would not happen.  Waitaminnit. . .  And his point still holds.  But I’ve used that as a larger cudgel, to object to the media using a double-standard with us.  They hit educators on pedophilia, but they REALLY nail the Church on it.

And this time it hit me.

The media really should hit us harder.  They really should.

Let me repeat that: The media is correct in hitting the Catholic Church harder on pedophilia than hitting other organizations.  And here’s why:

We are the keepers of the guttering flame of Truth.  We are the heirs to those Irish monks on the west coast of Britain who kept the flame of Antiquity’s wisdom while Europe was convulsed with pagan lawlessness.  In short, WE KNOW BETTER.  And the press knows this instinctively, so they beat us like a gong  every time we veer from the path.

Are they delighting in our errors?  Of course.  Are they drooling, microcephalic hypocrites?  Of course.  BUT THEY ARE CORRECT.

————————————————-

But here’s the really wonderful thing:  WHY does the press react as it does?  We keep hearing the message that Christianity is outdated, passe, meaningless.  We ought to pay it no mind.

But if it is really that meaningless, then the peccadilloes of erring priests such as the unfortunate mentioned above should be no cause for concern.  “Pay that fool no mind, modern thinker.  He’s going the way of the dodo.”  If it’s that meaningless, why does the Dawkins/Harris/Dennett/Myers Kraken react so violently to our little turns?  Why the vociferous, violent chortles of glee at yet another wayward priest?  If we’re marginalized, why bother?  If we’re meaningless, why does Dan Savage waste so much energy on us?

Deep down at the core, they know there is something to us.  We have the truth, they know it, and they hate us for it.  But in that moment comes proof of the Moral Argument.

If we’re protecting an outdated morality, then why the outrage when we violate it?  We ought to be welcomed by the Saturnalians as finally agreeing with them.  But they know; they grasp the Absolute.  They help prove that Moral Realities exist, and from that rather easily comes the idea that a Creator of those Realities must therefore also exist.

Posted today at DailyKos:  http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/1/24/824460/-The-Other-Terrorism

Choice opening quote:

Arson. Bomb threats. Bombs. Anthrax. Butyric acid attacks. Assaults. Stalking. Stabbing. Shooting. Kidnapping. Death threats. Murder. In the past three decades, 6,143 acts of violence. Another 156,961 acts of “non-violent” terrorism.

Since these idiots want to quote numbers let’s quote some from the other side.  According to Alan Guttmacher, 50 MILLION since 1973.

So, the comparison?  Behind Curtain 1, we have about 163,000 violent acts.  Curtain 2?  50 MILLION MURDERS.  Hmmm. If we have to choose, let’s take Curtain 1.

Of course, the products behind both curtains are morally and socially repugnant.  Leave it to the NetNuts to have the gall to quote numbers.  Unbelievable.

Continuum of Intelligence, as measured by religion October 21, 2009

Baseline stupid:  Cradle religionists, maintaining their religion because it was what they were taught.

Just a hair above baseline: Fundamentalist atheists of the PZ Myers ilk, who KNOW religion is wrong, just because they know.  This quote from babbling London Times idiot Matthew Parris encapsulates such de fide idiocy:

“But how can you be sure?” Oh boy, am I sure. Oh great quivering mountains of pious mumbo-jumbo, am I sure. Oh fathomless oceans of sanctified babble, am I sure. Words cannot express my confidence in the answer to the question whether God cured a nun because she wrote a Pope’s name down. He didn’t.”

No reason provided, just a series of ad hominem faith claims with no support whatsoever.

Two steps up from baseline.  Ignorant, but admitting it:  Agnosticism. Admitting that you really don’t have a clue.  The first step to real knowledge is admitting you know nothing.

First signs of intelligence beyond honest ignorance:  Moving beyond ignorance and just into the realm of real rationalism, atheism based on logic. The only real logic to get behind is based on the problem of evil.  But at least a rational -if incomplete- REASON for the lack of God is present.

Then we move into rbthe rational understanding that the order of the universe requires a power greater than our own.  This is fully realized intelligence; acknowledgement of a higher power.  It need not be the Judeo-Christian God, but it’s a start.

If one has embraced genuine, rational intelligence, then the route towards the One God can take place.  Arguments in favor of Judaism of Christiantity, in my mind, become muddled here. . .but it’s a damned far cry from the pathetic first two states outlined in this little list.

First, click the link down below and watch the video. (WARNING: Hardcore Obamaniacs are going to be immune to Teh Funnay, and may well find the video to be spiritually enlightening. If so, stop after having watched the video). (SECOND WARNING: If you are not thrilled with Mr. Obama or are, like me, completely appalled at the Cult of Personality that has come to surround our 44th President, the video will be more than a little disturbing and quite possibly stomach-churning). Movie link:

List of the Deranged: Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, John Singleton, Anthony Kiedis (oh. . my . . .GOSH the man is unhinged), Will.I.Am, George Lopez, Marisa Tomei and (the following are those that it kills me to see having had anything at all to do with this gawdawful paean of self-serving hogwash that didn’t involve a flame-thrower and a public petition to have the Kushton/Moorobot deported to Antarctica), Laura Linney, Aaron Eckhart and Bryce Dallas Howard.

It is hypocrisy of the first water that any of the ideas suggested in this video are somehow ennobled for being done during the Obama Administration, but were dismissed or outright ridiculed as insignificant when done during the Bush Administration.

BONUS POINTS to anyone who can identify who I think is a closet-conservative poking fun at the Kutcher/Moorobot’s sanctimonious hypocrisy; but because they are so blinded by Messianic Fervor, they cannot see the obvious foolishness of their posturing.

NOW FOR TEH FUNNAY: If you are feeling more than a little nauseated after having watched that modern-day hommage to Leni Riefenstahl, perhaps clicking the link down below for IowaHawk’s hysterical. . .I mean HYSTERICAL take on that selfsame video will assist you in curing your urge to vomit. http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/dburge/2009/01/20/i-pledge/

UPDATE:

Then, look and see how these consciousness-raised assholes pick up after themselves?

Effing HYPOCRITES!!!!

“No, Laeticia.  Picking up da trash ain’t no job fo’ us LIBERALS!”

Assholes.  That’s just all. Assholes presenting us a microcosmic glance into the future.  Having pissed all over the Capital, they leave the mess for someone else to clean up.

Now, on to the rest of the country.

We are fucked.

President Hope Change.

Governor Gregoire.  Again.

Stupid fucking brainless state voted for I-1000.  BY 20 PERCENTAGE POINTS!!!!

I loathe my fellow man, which is too stupid to realize that they have elected a tyrant in Barack Obama, a crooked liar in the governor, and the incredible idiocy to vote for their own death out of convenience.

Here is what Washington looks like in four years:

Gay marriage is not only legal, but you are persecuted -and quite possibly out of a job- if you dare speak out against it.

People are being put to death –put to death– if their illness is too expensive to treat.

President Hope/Change’s regime insures that anyone who speaks out against his policies is at best wiretapped, at worst hounded out of the country, if not outright imprisoned.

They will nationalize health care, driving the standard of care so far down that the university system will become severely degraded, as scientific professsionals flee the country.

The media will be in a liberal straitjacket.  Conservative talk-radio, -nothing that I love in any form, but necessary for a free republic- will be severely constrained.

The economy will be even further in the tank.

The ONLY bright spot in this never-ending stream of electoral idiocy is that the Senate is likely to still hold the filibuster for Republicans.  That’s it.

The rest of this is a wash.  This country is populated by at least 63 million total fucking idiots who believe this liberal dingbat is the salvation of the country.

The only comfort in that?  AFter a positively DISASTROUS Bush II presidency, Hope/Change has only been able to muster 51% of the popular vote.  That is some comfort.

However, compare this with McGovern, the only other candidate to receive a 95% or more rating from the ADA, and he got slaughtered by Nixon in ’72, the same Nixon whom people hated because of an unpopular war (Vietnam) and had an economy in the tank.  Nixon won 62-38; that’s a fucking landslide.

Where are the brains of the electorate now?

No, seriously.  FUCK YOU.

But what of the rest of the world? This is the reaction I fear most. For Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory. Polling in Germany, France, Britain and Russia shows that Obama would win by whopping majorities, with the pattern repeated in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. If November 4 were a global ballot, Obama would win it handsomely. If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.

If Americans choose McCain, they will be turning their back on the rest of the world, choosing to show us four more years of the Bush-Cheney finger. And I predict a deeply unpleasant shift.

Rachel Lucas has the smackdown on that mendacious horseshit about polling in other countries.

My main beef, other than that, is with this phrase:

If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.

Attention, British Asshat:  We, the American people, are electing an American president.

Not the leader of the free world.  We don’t have that authority.  You don’t like who we elect, for our own fricking country? Then fix your own problems and stop looking to us to pull your chestnuts out of the fire.

In the meantime, STFU and GTFO the Internets, asshat.
