Liberty junkies everywhere ought to be celebrating the fact that the Roman Catholic Church here in the US is sticking it to the GodKing and his fawning sycophant, Kathleen Sebelius, in suing over the HHS mandate. 12 separate lawsuits by over 40 different Catholic identities. Awesome. And more awesome, Notre Dame (NOTRE DAME!!!!) is on the list of litigants. That same Notre Dame that invited the GodKing to be commencement speaker in the recent past. The Democratic Party, I am sure, is muttering in its lattes about this, reassuring themselves that there is no way these suits can succeed; but also knowing deep down that such rationalizations are just that.
But, despite the fact that this represents the largest religious lawsuit in the history of the nation, there is much outrage in the Catholic Blogosphere that the MSM, in its Full Metal Tankage for its anointed GodKing, has said virtually nothing on the subject. (See here for an initial look at this as well as links to outside sources).
Really, is anyone truly surprised?

Politically, the man is a disaster. As a public figure, he is one of the worst models known to man. As a Catholic, he would normally be laughable.
But as a human being, he is being forced to live out a great terror now. Despite his myriad flaws -and we all have our own to wrestle with-, and to their great shame the fact that the press is pimping his unfortunate situation, he is in dire need of our prayers and our sincere hope that he might recover.
Lord have mercy on me and bless Teddy Kennedy and his family in this dark time for them.
This is awesome. . . June 16, 2007Posted by Administrator in Blogging, MSM.
. . .in a world where the basic mantra of the MSM is, “If it bleeds, it leads”, this story is utterly heartwarming.
Girl, 5, stumbles from woods to delight rescuers
MOMENCE, Illinois (AP) — A 5-year-old girl who was feared drowned with her grandfather on a boating trip startled searchers Friday when she emerged from the woods — naked, scratched and holding raspberries.
Crews had pulled her grandfather’s body from the Kankakee River in eastern Illinois just hours earlier.
“People were like, ‘Who’s that little girl? That can’t be her, can it?”‘ Kankakee Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ken McCabe said. “I went up to her [and] asked, ‘How you doing? What’s your name?”‘
When authorities told Hannah Klamecki’s family — already grieving the loss of her grandfather — that she was alive, the home erupted in screaming. (Watch Hannah’s dad relive the moment he heard the news )
Hannah was taken to a hospital as a precaution. She slept with her parents and a teddy bear at her side before being released. Cradling the bear, she spoke freely of her ordeal Friday evening.
“I was scared last night when everybody was gone,” she said. “I went searching all over the world to look for the cottage [where her grandparents live].”
Hannah had scratches on her face and body and thick dirt under her nails. She had poison ivy rashes on her legs and couldn’t walk because splinters and thorns cut her feet.
Hannah and her grandfather, David Klamecki, 62, were last seen Wednesday evening on the river near Momence, about 45 miles south of Chicago.
Authorities believe the river current swept the girl away from a small island where she and her grandfather had stopped to swim and to the shore of the mainland where she eventually was found.
She told searchers she was wearing floats on her arms and pulled herself from the water with a branch.
“That’s a tough little girl, I tell you,” McCabe said.
Hannah said she had taken off her bathing suit because it was muddy and itchy, friends of the family said.
She was also a bit dehydrated and “very, very tired,” said Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee spokesman Carl Maronich.
On Friday morning, searchers found her grandfather’s body near the island, which is close to a part of the river locals call “Whirlpool Bend” because of strong currents from the union of the river and two tributaries.
The surrounding area is wilderness with no homes, and populated only by coyotes and deer, Momence Fire Chief Dave Horn said.
Richard Wehrle, a friend and neighbor of David Klamecki, said the area is notoriously treacherous.
“Anybody who knows that river knows that that’s the deadliest part of the river,” Wehrle said.
The girl’s footprints were still visible on the island beach. Searchers believed she had drowned and were scouring the area with a team of divers, sonar equipment and a helicopter.
Hannah appeared just before 10:30 a.m., in an area about three-quarters of a mile from where she’s believed to have reached the shore, McCabe said.
The girl was reunited with her parents, who were waiting with family and friends at the grandparents’ home.
Hannah calmly sat in a rescue vehicle when her parents saw her for the first time, her father said.
“She didn’t say much,” Mike Klamecki said. “She was eating her banana looking at us. We were jumping around like maniacs.”

CNN reports that Bush is threatening a veto of hate-crimes legislation.
I am not going to go into the wherefores of this legislation. Read the article and figure it for yourself.
My issue comes up from this phrase:
Both sides cited the case of Matthew Shepard of Wyoming, whose brutal 1998 murder was linked to his sexual orientation.
“Matthew’s death generated international outrage by exposing the violent nature of hate crimes,” said Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisconsin, the only openly lesbian member of the House of Representatives.
But Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, argued that Shepard’s killers got harsh sentences without hate-crimes provisions.
These legislators on both sides of the aisle are idiots. This link thoroughly explores how the death of Shepherd was drug related, and had nothing to do with his sexual orientation. But the media has its poster child for hate crimes, and the Congress is following in lockstep.
Depressing, and no indication that the leadership of this country is in any way doing its job properly.

- Imus is an idiot whose firing I cannot find within myself to feel sorry about.
- Sharpton is a bigger idiot, and a monstrous hypocrite to boot. He needs to be in PRISON for the Tawana Brawley fraud.
- WAY too many people are using this as a means of increasing their own visibility.
Mars heating up as well April 4, 2007Posted by Administrator in Cultural Pessimism, Global Warming, Idiots, Liberal Hypocrisy, MSM.
CNN reports here.
Earth’s dusty neighbor Mars is grappling with its own form of climate change as fluctuating solar radiation is kicking up dust and winds that may be melting the planet’s southern polar ice cap, scientists said Wednesday.
On Earth, carbon dioxide traps infrared radiation which can affect global climate. This a phenomenon is known as the greenhouse effect. Fossil fuel emissions add to the problem.
On Mars, it’s the red-tinged dust.
Wouldn’t it be nice if people could see the correlation that is staring them right in the face that it just might be solar radiation that is causing global warming, and that it just might NOT be anthropogenic in nature?
Naw. Too much to ask. We MUST terrorize the people into making the correct decisions that we, the liberal MSM and adjuncts of the Goracle, must make for a population too dim-witted to know better.
Sad, really. If the Goracle and the rest of his crew get their way, the democratic experiment is over. They wish to go back to feudal times when the aristocracy really knew what was best for the commoners, who were then kept ignorant so that they could slave away at maintaining the estates of the aristocracy.
Porn law struck down March 22, 2007Posted by Administrator in Cultural Pessimism, MSM.

Bad decision, I think.
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday dealt another blow to government efforts to control Internet pornography, striking down a 1998 U.S. law that makes it a crime for commercial Web site operators to let children access “harmful” material.
In the ruling, the judge said parents can protect their children through software filters and other less restrictive means that do not limit the rights of others to free speech.
Now on the one hand, I don’t want the nanny state taking over the job of mommy and daddy. Filters need to be present on computers used by kids.
That said, why don’t we allow porn on free cable TV channels? Answer: In part, to protect kids.
This is one of those issues where government regulation sounds to be a good thing. . .and we just stepped away from it.

Per this CNN article.
Question: Why must CNN post the most ridiculous picture possible while running this story?
The man has serious issues; he has been out of control for months, if not years. It is a step in the right direction for him to finally get the help he desperately needs. . .and CNN runs that monstrous photo.
Here’s hoping that one of the protean rock guitarists of our age pulls it together.
I really dunno about the MSM.

O’Reilly tees off on Edwards, and according to this link, Amanda resigned right after. But since I don’t have cable, I missed all of this until today (and I was shivering in bed with a fever at the time, anyway, and watching political commentary would only make me sicker).
Watch the clip. O’Reilly does not impress me, and he gave Malkin a great deal of uninterrupted time. Powers, despite being repeatedly interrupted by O’Reilly, very much impressed me, and I wonder how much her criticism of Edwards spurred Marcotte to quit/be sacked.

Now NPR jumps on the bandwagon with commentator Lennard Davis castigating Rush Limbaugh for suggesting that Fox is over-acting with political ads in favor of embryoinc stem-cell research.
I am not about to defend Limbaugh here. I have rarely had much use for the man, and I suspect that he was barking up the wrong tree in accusing Fox of overacting.
But that won’t stop me from cutting into Davis for attempting to change the subject.
I can’t access the quotes right now, as my Realplayer (that I do not want) (and thank you very much, Maria Cantwell, D-Wa, a huge stockholder in RealPlayer, for screwing up my ability to listen to soundfiles) is insisting on attempting to play the clip, which was downloaded as a MSPlayer file. So I’ll have to go on memory.
Davis states -with some validity- that Fox is now NORMAL as a sick man, and Limbaugh wants him portrayed as normal -as in NOT sick. Fine, I guess. But Davis deliberately misses the point that it is Fox”s disability that is the star of the spots, and it is the disability that is designed to play on viewers heartstrings to promotes government funding of state-sanctioned murder in the name of science. He tries to place the focus on Limbaugh, and how he is exploiting Micheal Fox in the name of conservatism. That the issue is not one of Fox’s disability, but of stem-cell research.
Davis has it mostly right, but is disastrously wrong in two respects: Fox IS getting exploited, but not by Limbaugh. Fox is allowing himself to become prostituted by the DNC. And the second is that it IS about stem-cell research; the need to prevent further embryonic research before we become one with the Nazis.
UPDATE: Not to mention that the research in favor of embryonic research is NOTHING (literally) compared to adult-stem cell research.
